I write books, mostly for kids, from picture books to young adult biographies. I’m fascinated by strong-willed, creative people who use their art – music, photography, words – to acknowledge what’s wrong and to create change.
My latest book is the story of the Selma to Montgomery march for the vote in 1965. Kids and teens, jailed and beaten, got up each morning to march again. They made the march a success. If these kids could change the world, armed only with songs and courage, so can we.
